the sun dove into the water a clam yawned, lodged in sand
the heartbeat into the bowl laughter splashed from lidless cups
a poem ran into my arms a story leaned against us
divorce cut the lawn the grass kept growing
where poisonous flowers
years ago had been pulled
they sprang bell-shaped, brightly back
